Where does that guideline comes from? and why? Well, we know that the signals travel on an outside layer of board actually faster than on inner layer. But even without that... Im just trying to figure out what the point of this suggestion? Generally what you need to do is to have minimum number of vias, two or less. 2. It also says that trace width needs to be 3 to 5 mils. Why is that? Im planning for example to use 6 mils. And, lets say the overall SI analysis would tell you things are fine... then... why do i have to use 3-5mils? thanks |
