85093B 3.5 mm ECal模块手册无法找到

  I am going off my memory so this is a little hazy.

The 8720ES (and I think the D) needs a special parallel interface box that would hook up to network analyzer.   I can not remember the part number.

I do not remember if Agilent/Keysight has a program to allow a PC to switch the states of the Ecal module.

  Hi Dave,

Since you said your 8720D has Firmware 7.74, then it is running the same firmware vintage as (has the same CPU board as) the 8720E/ES/ET.  That means it is capable of communicating with ECals, but as Mike stated, you would need the ECal parallel interface box (part number 85097-60002) to be able to use your 85093B ECal with your 8720D.  If you decide to search sites like eBay for that, just be aware that it's best to find a seller who indicates they are including the power supply and cable (DB25 control cable) with it.  Because the power supply for that interface box isn't quite an off-the-shelf type.  I believe the control cable is just a standard straight-thru type of pinout so it'd be easier to find one of those if you decided to procure that separately, but still best if you find a unit that has it included.

We at Keysight do not provide software for controlling the states of an ECal module from a PC outside the context of a VNA.  There was a PC-based software that shipped with that 85097 interface box in the late 1990's, which was used for controlling the 8510/87xx VNA's via GPIB, and controlled the ECal module(s) via PC parallel port, for ECal calibrations of those VNAs -- until the 87xx firmware debuted its own ECal control capabilities.  But since you've got the requisite firmware revision that's a moot point, and I remember from reading other posts of yours that you don't like MS Windows -- the software I'm referring to was Windows-based and won't install/run on any Windows version newer than 98 / NT 4 or maybe the 'ME' edition.

If you've received your ECal module already, did the seller include a paper manual or perhaps you knew they didn't and that's why you were asking about a manual?  I believe the ECal Modules Reference Guide may be what is presently being shipped with these ECal units as their manual.

PNA被认为*有原始纸质手册。
不幸的是，为了保持40公斤以下的重量，卖方将手册与PNA和ECal分开运输。
PNA + ECal到了，但不是手册。

That's *very* useful to know.

Great. I was concerned there was little point buying the hardware if the software was not available. But if I only need the hardware, it makes it a lot more practical. 

I thought a PC was still required, but since it is not, it makes using the ECal with the 8720D a *lot* more practical. For items like the expansion box, the chances of finding the software on eBay are far less than the chances of finding the hardware. But since I don't require any software, it makes it much easier. But thanks to the help by yourself and Mike, at least I know what I am looking for. 

I've not looked at the prices of the hardware on eBay - I might be cheaper to buy a new PNA-X !!

The ECal & PNA were *supposed* to have the original paper manuals. Unfortunately to keep the weight under 40 kg, the seller shipped the manuals separately from the PNA and ECal. The PNA + ECal arrived, but not the manuals. So the manual you gave me a link to is most helpful.
