If you have not experienced a good alignment of the motor at the beginning, it is possible that the advancement of the field is not well coordinated with the magnetics. The coordination may be close enough at the lower speeds, but as you ramp the difference gets larger. Alternately, the slope of your ramp is too steep compared with the amount of current available to the motor. You can either reduce the ramp slope or you can add more current.
