  While I don't know much about the 8720, I can tell you that there is no keyword to do this.  I really don't know if the 8720 can even do that.

  Maybe there is some jumper or some poke command to tell it that it has option 012.  There would have been no need for a keyword since it is a hardware option...although today we do have a keywords that do this on PNAs.  The logic was that it was easier to just have one method of enabling/reporting options regardless of whether or not it was hardware vs software.  However, in the not-too-distant future, options will be switching to a large text file of maybe 100 to 1000 characters of mixed case; something that would be extremely difficult to manually enter.  Maybe they will revisit this issue then....but I digress.

I will talk to Dr Joel on Monday about this.

（8720D有两个版本的CPU - 一个固件高达6.x，后一个CPU仅带7.x固件）。

Hi jvall, 

I just checked the manual for a user installable hardware kit on the 8720D - the 8719D, 8720D, and 8722D Network Analyzer Option 1D5 High Stability Frequency Reference Upgrade Kit. It says in there to poke 1 into the address 1619001529 after installing the oscillator. (A different address is used for the old CPUs) 

I might guess a similar method is used for option 012, but since the option 012 upgrade was never available as a user-installable kit, the address doesn't seem to be public knowledge. So whilst someone kindly compiled a list of the hardware needed for Agilent 8719ES and 8720ES Upgrade Kits, the details of how to get the VNA to display the options properly are not shown.

It makes sense to be consistent.

Cheers. Mention I have the latest CPU with 7.x firmware, as any address which needs poking would be different if the older/slower CPU was fitted. (There are two versions of CPU for the 8720D - one takes firmware up to 6.x, and the later CPUs only take 7.x firmware). 

I appreciate the 8720D is long since out of support, so are not expecting an answer, but if I get one, I will be pleased. 

BTW, I just noticed the photo I put originally showing the new front panel overlay and the reported options has gone. These forums are rather screwed up at times!
