8720D与新CPU和8720ES有什么区别？

  I recall answering the question of differences between 8720ES and 8720D with new CPU for someone via email about 12 or 13 years ago, but the exact answer was more readily available to me at that time.  Dr_joel might recall better than I, but my recollection is that (given both boxes having same options of course) for the most part it was just a few differences in hardkeys/softkey menus on the front panel, perhaps some different parts used in the hardware of the respective internal testsets, and might also be at least one difference as far as all the rear-panel peripheral I/O connectors are concerned.  I'm thinking that for the 8720D the new CPU was just an upgrade and that we didn't ship any D's with it, but my memory on that is also a tad fuzzy.

About whether your 8720D would end up getting calibrated within the UK, I'll mention that question to one of our service/support folks to see if they can answer that.

  Thanks bhokkan and Javil. If Joel does know any more about the 8720D / 8720ES differences, I'd be interested to hear them, if his memory of the antiques has not failed .

It's good to hear the 8720D can be calibrated in the UK. There's less risk of damage in transit. I'm hoping there is nothing wrong with the VNA. I bought it last year from the USA dealer. It was calibrated by "Techmaster Electronics Inc" in the USA.. I'm a bit suspicious of that cal lab, for reasons I'm going to put in another thread. 

Anyway, for me it is a "no-brainer". When I get my VNA calibrated, I want Agilent to do it, not some third party that might save me a few pounds, but I am not confident of their ability to do the job.
