At the moment I don't have access to an old PNA to try it out, but I can look for one tomorrow and confirm. when you are measuring the conversion loss with VMC (VC21), you are making a true ratio measurement, where the B receiver is measured exactly at the same time as the R1 receiver and at the same frequencies (that's why you have a reference mixer in the source loop). Because VC21 is a true ratio, the absolute amplitude of the B and the R1 measurements are not as important as they are when you are making the same measurement in SMC. So as it turns out with A.06.04.32, you don't have an option to do any power cal in VMC, but in A.07.50.xx you can use the source power cal dialog. Now in our support web site, it says this version is only supported on the boxes with the 1.1 GHz cpu, but in reality it can be used with the 500 MHz CPU if you have 512 MB of memory or more. So, check your memory and if you have enough, you can download the latest supported A.07.50.xx code from _*HERE*_. if you don't have enough memory, I can put you in touch with one our support engineers who has some extra memory burning a hole in his drawer and we can hook you up :-) |

Can't please some people ;) it could be. we didn't do much testing of that particular HW/SW combination, because it isn't officially supported. the source power cal itself, should not slow the sweep down because it is just an offset array being applied to the source. |
