Acutally, I need to use at least three receivers at the same time, two of them at the same frequency but one at another frequency. however, the two different frequencies are not much apart (there will not be more than 10 MHz difference b/w two frequencies to be monitored; also to mention both frequencies are in L-band (around 1 GHz)) . .. So, it is possible that I can setup measurement in one channel with large frequency span so that both frequencies to be monitored are covered in that span. Than, I will setup markers at two frequencies to be monitored in different traces for different receivers . . . . is it than possible ???? Thank You Umer |

Another point of concern is that you have to make sure that your start/stop and number of points are setup so that there is a data point at frequencies that you are interested in measuring. because of the nature of the IF Bandwidth filters used in a standard VNA, unlike a Spectrum Analyzer, it is not guaranteed that any signal falling within the span be captured. If the frequency of the signals that you want to measure are exactly known, then the most efficient way of measuring them with your PNA is to setup a segment sweep with 1 point in each segment set to the frequency of interest. This way you don't have to waste any time measuring data in between the frequencies of interest. Because a lot of people have these forms of Spectrum Analyzer type measurement applications and want to use their VNAs, in our PNA-X line of Network Analyzers, we actually have a measurement application that gives you essentially an SA like sweep (image free and using Gaussian Resolution Bandwidth filters instead of the normal VNA IFBW filters) on the measurement and reference receivers in the box. With a 4-port PNA-X, that is like having 4 Spectrum Analyzers in one box :-) |
