What is the target design requirement? If you have designed with some ASICs, you can check for the similar feature available in GT.------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have no experience with ASICs.  The only thing I had expeience with be fore starting this project is working with an Altera board.  I have to be able to transimit video data over a fiber connection between two SP605 boards. 
 
Also I may something confused.  What is GTP and SFP, this may be causing me some confussion.

Thanks for all the links and information, they have been really helpfull.  I have an additional question.  If I where to use the wizard to set up a core how do I implement that core into my design.  Also I have read that there is a jitter pll that can be used to recover a clock from a transmitter signal.  My next question is there a setting in the wizard that I need to click or is this something that I need to code myself.
