As far as I understand this will trigger on pulse width violation. It will trigger if the positive part of the clock will be less than 45ns or more than 55ns.
I'm looking for trigger on period violation. I would like to get trigger  if the time between 2 positive edges of the clock is less than 45ns or more than 55ns.

  There is no method to directly trigger on a clock period violation in the current software.  If you believe your period error is caused by a duty cycle change you could use the pattern trigger mentioned previously.  Another possibility is to purchase the mask test option which will allow you to stop on an error.  You would have to set up a mask with a known good clock period and set the limits around your error range.  This is still not a trigger on your error so it may not meet your needs.

I don't know of any scope that has any flavor of "period violation trigger" in a hardware circuit.  Infiniiscan on the Infiniium class scopes can do a sw based trigger on this.


If you have data assocaited with the clock, a setup/hold time trigger migth work well.

Zone trigger ona 4000X might work well, too.

and here's another idea:
