ICD4不会通过MPLABX 4.01连接到目标

我用的是我买的易趣网上的ICD3。（但不能工作）5针直插式连接器有4根黑色电线和1个红色的一端。连接器本身也有一个标记，指示在红色电线的端部的引脚1。我猜他们的板针1被反转到它在我们的板上的位置。它工作了。现在我只需要校正连接器上的标记！

    SOLVED.
 
I was using the cable that came with an ICD3 that I had bought used on ebay. (but could never get to work)
The 5 pin inline connector had 4 black wires and 1 red one on the end.
Also the connector itself was had a mark indicating pin 1 at he end where the red wire was.
Well I guess on THEIR board pin 1 was  reversed to where it was on our board.
Flipped the connector around, and it works. 
Now I just need to correct the marking on the connector!

    I spent this week trying to connect ICD4 to MPLAB X.
ICD3 is always green and ICD4 red in FILE>PROJECT PROPERTIES.
DEBUG>RUN DEBUGGER/PROGRAMMER SELF TEST gives fail error.
Did you have any probems or have I just got a dead ICD4?

    I had trouble getting mine going, but in the end the ICD4 was good and has worked well ever since.
Things to check:
 
First, the command "DEBUG>RUN DEBUGGER/PROGRAMMER SELF TEST",  is meant to be used with the "ICD TEST INTERFACE MODULE" (Assembly No.:02-02026)  that came in the box with the ICD4. Connect it to the ICD4 with the 6 conductor RJ-11 cable that also came in the box with it. Run the self test again.  If it passes, your ICD4 is almost certainly good.
 
Second, double check the connections from the ICD4 to your target board.  My target board uses a PIC32MX575F128L. On my setup, WHEN LOOKING IN TO the RJ-11 JACK ON THE ICD4 ITSELF, starting from the LEFT, I have a connection to:
PGEC2
PGED2
VSS (ground)
VDD (3.3v)
MCLR

    They released MPLAB X 4.05 just yesterday with fixes for the ICD4, give that a try.  You can install multiple versions at once, they won't conflict with each other.

    Yes I have the test module fitted and I am not connected to any target (yet). Project is set for 16F716.
Today I un-installed MPLAB X v 4.01 and the compiler and installed MPLAB X version 4.05 plus the latest compiler. I also deleted the project files so apart from Win registry editing I think I have a fairly clean system.
Note that when ICD4 idle and connected to USB plus test board the leds are purple all the time so the device is showing that it is in bootloader mode and NOT normal run mode when the ICD4 leds are blue.
When I run the DEBUG>RUN DEBUGGER/PROGRAMMER SELF TEST this gives fail error but reads a devie serial ok.
Any clues here - how do I get the ICD4 out of bootloader mode and into normal (blue) mode perhaps?
