The problem I am encountering is when I try to set the measurement channel stimulus settings to use the noise receiver and adjust the receiver gain. In the 'set nfx stimuls.png' attachment, I am able to to select the 'Noise receiver' option and set the receiver gain, as well as the averages. But if I close the dialog and then open up again (see 'review nfx stimuls.png'), the GUI reverts back to the standard receiver and grays out the 'Receiver Gain' section. It only remembers the averages. Also, if you look at 'noise path config.png', you can see that it is set to the 'Noise Receiver' pathway. But I am unable to affect it via the 'NFX Frequency Setup' GUI, meaning if I change it to 'NA Receiver (Port 2)', the path configuration will still show it switched to the 'Noise Receiver' pathway. The problem I am encountering has been verified by an Agilent FAE already. I've already upgraded to Windows 7, and the problem still remains. I believe it's some software bug, akin to the external PSG issue encountered before in which the newer firmware had issues recalling .csa files with an externall defined PSG with different frequencies support. The PNA-X we got shipped from Agilent had both Option 28 and Option 29 noise figure options installed on it. Apparently, you only need to have Option 29, since it also encompasses Option 28 functionality (i.e ability to select standard receivers for noise figure measurement). So you need to go to the 'Option Enable' under the 'System' menu and delete the extra Option 28. Once I did that, it fixed everything up. rok |
