I have setup the sig gen with a freq step sweep with a dwell time of 50mS and a timer trigger of 55 mS (50mS dwell + 5 mS settling time) over 101 points. I then set my Spectrum Analyzer to external trigger with a sweep time of T=101*55mS=5.555S. I get the SA to trigger off the SG sweep out but the points aren't in sync. It's like there is a delay start for the SA sweep and the times are not equal as well. The SA sweep starts behind, then catches up in the middle and gets ahead at the end. This creates a bell shaped trace that is useless. Taking the 10 MHz out of the SG and feeding it into the Ref of the SA has no effect. Norm |
