Also is there a way to back up the current firmware in the instrument before attempting an upgrade? I know that I have to make a backup of the calibration constants beforehand. Also I would like at some point to update the unit to the functionality of the 8712A if that is possible. That would really be a nice addition to the ham shack. I noted that the unit has 28F010 for boot and a mix of 28F010 and 28F010 parts. Also does anyone have a CLIP of the schematics for the "A" version of these analyzers? Thank you and 73, Sam W3OHM

Most everyone involved in the 871x family is long gone. The 8711A was last made in the early or mid 90's and support ended sometime in the last millennium.
