  Hello I am attaching two videos in a zip file.  The first is just showing what normally is seen in the measurement menu.  The second is a possible guess to your problem.  Maybe your intsrument is not set up for POWER ON RESET, it might be setup for POWER ON LAST.  If this is the case set it to POWER ON RESET, then power cycle the instrument and see if that helps.34970A short videos.zip

  I know what it is.  Either you don't have the DMM installed, or you have it disabled.  You can check if it is enabled or disabled in the same menu that I had you check the power on reset, just keep pressing advanced until you see DMM DISABLED, or DMM ENABLED.  If it is disabled, and a DMM is installed in your unit, just turn the knob counter-clockwise and you should be able change it to DMM ENABLED.  Then keep pressind advanced until you exit the menu to save the changes.

  Sorry for the slow reply.  Yes you can get a 34970A without a DMM.  It is option 001 I believe.  Some customers only need the box for switching and do not want to pay for the DMM so an option was created that removes the DMM.  A DMM comes standard in the 34970A, you explicitly have to say you don't want one.
