请问最简单的预编程序列向量是什么？

我是使用FPGA的新手，也是我第一次使用FPGA。
我希望最终实现的是对Spartan3进行编程，以替换/模拟一个GUI，该GUI当前将最多128个串行向量（长度为几百位）加载到芯片上以进行测试。
我有几个一般性的问题要开始，如果你有指针如何实现串行向量的加载，这将是有帮助的。
查看用户指南后，似乎我必须使用Xilinx WebPack来编程S3，这是正确的吗？
我是否必须使用JTAG到并行端口电缆进行编程？
是否可以使用RS-232电缆？
GPIB怎么样？
或者所有这些都是有效的，如果是这样，你会建议最简单的预编程序列向量？

Hello all,
 
I am new to using a FPGA and is my first time working with one. What I hope to eventually achieve is to program the Spartan3 to replace/emulate a GUI that currently loads up to 128 serial vectors (several hundred bits in length) on to a chip for testing purposes. I have a few general questions to get started and if you have pointers how to achieve the loading of serial vectors it would be helpful.
 
After looking over the user guide it seems as though I have to use the Xilinx WebPack in order to program the S3, is this correct? 
 
Do I have to use a JTAG-to-Parallel port cable to do the programming? Is it possible just using a RS-232 cable? What about GPIB? Or all these valid and if so which would you suggest to be the most simplistic to pre-program serial vectors?
 
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You can use the Xilinx WebPack to program the S3. Most student (and I) used it for projects.
It is the free version of the software.
 
I don't know if you can program the FPGA using the RS232 because I have never tried but for sure you can use the JTAG.
