The thing is, I do not need a Spartan-6 XC6SLX150T-3FGG676 FPGA that is given on a Spartan-6 FPGA SP623 board since its way above my requirements, i guess! I am working on my Masters Thesis in which I have to multiply a PRBS sequence by an in-phase and quadrature sinusoid to generate a PRBS sequence relative to a carrier. Then transmit that to a DAC, receive the response with an ADC, and correlate the signal looking for the peak in the response. Inside the FPGA, I need: 1) Transmitter logic; a PRBS generator, my filter, and a numerically controlled oscillator to generate a bandpass noise sequence modulated around a carrier (not necessarily my final carrier, since the DAC can do that, depending on the device). 2) Receiver logic; a digital downconversion, low-pass filter, and decimation stage, followed by correlation to find the peak of my signal. The PRBS sequence will be operated at around 100MHz - 200MHz frequency with a cut off at 250MHz. So, any recommendations for a board that can probably accomodate these requirements? Also, some of the boards I checked did not have a JTAG interface giving only the USB interface for programming the FPGA. Is the JTAG already phased out? My Professor is adamant on me using a JTAG interface since he says that its more reliable than the USB due to the voltage considerations and fluctuations (??????) Hope you can help!! Regards, Jack |

This means you must distill your needs and requirements to terms which match against the defined device resources.
