I've got a N9923A on order from Agilent - a CertiPrime unit. I'm just wondering if there are any accessories I should be really looking for. I paid for all the options, so have the inbuilt cal, but are not sure about the limits of that, and whether an external cal kit is desirable or not. I have a cal kits for 3.5 mm, N and APC-7, but the wooden boxes are not exactly nice to transport. Are there any accessories which are pretty useful to have, and so I should order before the unit arrives? My main interest is antenna testing. Dave |

> Afsi 以上来自于谷歌翻译 以下为原文 > {quote:title=am95405 wrote:}{quote} > Hi, > > All the wooden box cal kits that you have will work with N9923A. You may have to enter the cal kit data using the free Data Link software if the cal kit info is not preloaded, but they all work fine with it. They are a bit big, and somehow seem more appropiate in a lab than that they do in a field. I will be working outside, but not too far from the house. I hope to get an 85054B soon, and would certainly not want to take that out in a field! It costs more than the VNA. > If you are going to be out in the field for long periods of time, you can consider the car charger or a second battery. I was not aware of those. > Many of the accessories are under the model number N9910X and N9911X, if you want to check those out. cheers. > Re: QuickCal, you don't really need any special standard. The cal is based on simply leaving the cable open and then connecting a load. But the load is not specified; It is just looking for low-reflection. I assumed that only calibrated at the test ports, so if not, that sounds better than I expected. Are you saying if I attach a cable of a few meters, then leave it open and then put a reasonable load on it, then it will calibrate at the end of the cable? If it does not need a very good load, I'll use something that is reasonable, but not very expensive. I'd rather not take the expensive 909F into a field if a cheaper load would do. If that quickcal works as I think you are saying it does, then it is impressive! I expect that is described in Joel's book, though I did not notice it. But his book is not easy reading! It is an impressive book, but not something one can read quickly. I guess I should download the manual and read it carefully, though I still have to work out my 8720D. There are only so many hours in the day! > Have fun with it! I'm sure I will. WHEN it arrives! It sure does take a long time for Agilent to ship this. I paid for it 2-3 weeks ago, and I don't think its scheduled to be shipped for another week or so. > Afsi |

Without going into proprietary details, quickcal is like an enhanced automatic port extension but not quite in the same way as automatic fixture removal. Since it is proprietary and unpublished, none of the details are included in the "Handbook of Microwave Component Measurements" |
