浮动许可证服务器设置：许可证文件缺失信息

I am trying to setup a Floating License server and have obtained a license already.  I am now trying to start the daemon service, but this is not working well.  Just to start this off, I am running this all on a 64-bit CentOS 6.5.

When I call lmgrd with the license file as is from Xilinx, I get an error as follows:

9:46:00 (lmgrd) license manager: can't initialize:No SERVER lines in license file.
9:46:00 (lmgrd) License Path: "Xilinx.lic"
9:46:00 (lmgrd) FlexNet Licensing error:-13,66

Upon reading some other resources and forum posts, I tried simply adding a text line at the beggining of the Xilinx.lic file stating "SERVER ".  When I did this, I got the following results:

9:45:10 (lmgrd) License file(s): Xilinx.lic
9:45:10 (lmgrd) lmgrd tcp-port 27000
9:45:10 (lmgrd) The license server manager has found no vendor daemons to start
9:45:10 (lmgrd) (There are no VENDOR (or DAEMON) lines in the license file),
lmgrd exiting.
(Cannot connect to license server system.
The license server manager (lmgrd) has not been started yet,
the wrong port@host or license file is being used, or the
port or hostname in the license file has been changed.
Server name: merlin-server
License path: Xilinx.lic:
FLEXnet Licensing error:-15,570. System Error: 115 "Operation now in progress"

If I add a VENDOR or DAEMON line in a similar fashion, there is no change from the just above error.

I also had a question about the hostid.  When I run "lmutil lmhostid", I get a line that looks like " " " " (with the double double quotes); below it is stated that I should use one of the values above for the hostid.  Which value in this string should be used for the hostid?

I am not sure where to go from this point, nor do I have any clue as to what is going wrong.  It seems like there are changes that I need to make to the license file, but I am not sure what those are or where to put them.  The license file is an XML format, and it feels a little odd to add a plain text field into an XML file.
