I see 5ns minimum pulse but am hoping it's better than that (or perhaps there is a glitch / runt mode for the LA ?) 3) bummer that this scope does not have a 50 ohm input selection ... a 50 ohm termination in line with the scope input impedance no longer looks like 50 ohms. I know, it's good enough for most uses but I believe the combination does have some peaking as you approach 200MHz. On most of the older Teks I've used, the vertical menu has a separate control for offset to remove dc offset from the channel input. This is very handy for observing noise or other modulation riding on a dc component. The offset can also be entered by keyboard which is very handy if you want to remove, for instance, a known dc reference level. It appears that the Infiniivision scopes, the vertical position control also acts as the offset control and the offset voltage is shown momentarily as the knob is turned. The specifications also indicate that you do have control as you have a +/- 2V offset (for example) on any range less than 200mV. And you also have coarse / fine control (I believe) when you press the vertical pos button. It sounds good so we'll see how it works out ! Den |
