Set up an antenna that can receive WWV. Use 5, 10, or 20 MHz. ____Setup__Use a receiver or spectrum analyzer as the measuring device.Place a "T" on the input.Put the antenna one one side of the T.Put a step attenuator (such as an HP 355 and 355D) on the other side.Connect the 10 MHz xtal out of the unit to be calibrated to the pads. ___Procedure________Set pads to maximum value.Tune measuring device to 10 MHz, or, if using 20 MHz WWV, then 20 MHz.Use minimum RF attenuation if using spectrum analyzer.Slowly decrease pads until the Xtal signal and WWV (or harmonics thereof) are roughly equal.
