  In your image ACE_0.png you should select *Change Properties* and uncheck "*Auto-identify this instrument*" as the connection expert will only use the **IDN?* query to identify instruments, which this instrument does not understand. Once you do so you should see the red X go away and you should see a green check instead. THEN you can select the *Interactive IO* in the icon ribbon near the top of the window to talk to it.

In your image ACE_1.png you have two problems: 1) You have entered "*GPIB0::10:INSTR*" instead of "*GPIB::10::INSTR*". 2) You cannot use **IDN?* to communicate with this instrument, you need to use the *ID?* query to identify it.
