Based on what people post on the Web (e.g. Segger comparisons), ReadICE is the same speed as ICD3. If ICD4 is faster than ICD3 then it is also faster than RealICE.
ICD4 has newer Sparan-6 FPGA and PIC32 inside. Must be very fast. On the other hand, ICD3 also had FPGA and dsPIC33, yet it was 3 times slower in programming dsPIC33EP chips than my single-chip design based on PIC16F1454. If ICD4 is only 2 times faster than ICD3, there's still some way to go to match NSDSP speed.
