  There is no display power saving mode that turns off after a preset interval. You can go into Standby mode by briefly pressing the power key. Details on page 13 of the User's Guide.

FYI, my FieldFoxes (and many of my colleagues') are pretty much powered on all the time and we've not had any issues.

  Thanks for replying. 

When in standby mode, no measurements are taken and the instrument then needs some time when coming out of standby mode to stabilize (I think about 30 minutes or so).

Anyway, if leaving it on all the time does not wear out the display, then I won't worry about it anymore.

  Why dont you implement screen saver option in the firmware, in a portable instrument that is a basic thing just to save battery and the screen. I will be recording for long periods of time in a panoramic tower with a N9912A I would like to have that option. Can you please make a note of it and pass it out to the development team.
