It is very unlikely any effort was put in to migrating old adjustment software into any other format. 

We checked with the Roseville Service Center.  On a best effort basis they can still do Performance Tests, Repair and do Adjustments of the 8673D’s.  Most of the adjustments on the 73D are manual though some tests dealing with Power Level Accuracy are automated.

The best we can offer on this old product is the possibility that the Service Center might be able to Repair and provide Adjustments.  And, provide Performance Verification if that is all that is needed.  In any of these cases, you should request a Tech Eval first to determine if what needs to be done on this unit can be supported by the Service Center.

  Hello

Just had a chat with the guys who were carrying out the adjustment on these units, they have just received a 8673D back from the USAF, AFPSL via Roseville, it took over 10 months, due mainly to the fact we are currently stationed in the Middle East.

What they have been doing is only sending out the units that required repair due to the lead time, as they can no longer adjust the power level on the units they end up sending the 8673D’s back to the US for minor adjustments and not repair.

The guys said they have tried manually adjusting the power level since the HP85 went out of commission, with some small success, but were far quicker and more successful using the old software.

Does a program listing for the 11726-10004 (in whole or just the leveling part) exist so that I could spend time converting it to run in HP/HT Basic so this does not effect the down time on these old generators.

  Since we cannot read the original tape, we cannot convert it. If anyone has the original program that can be saved as a text file and sent to us, we can look at converting it. Some of the old HP basic programs use CSUBs which where 'taken care' of by the 'old' Co-processors, this will cause problems during the HT Basic conversion.... We had an up grade last year so most of the 8673Ds are now no longer used here, so it will no longer be a high priority.

I have recently come across this thread and have an interest in obtaining the crucial data on the adjustment tape or set of tapes (11726A) for any 8673. As soon as possible please contact me by email through my profile to discuss possible solutions for both the 85 computer and the tape. An original HP 85 tape will eventually degrade over time no matter what condition (sooner in extreme conditions) and I'm afraid the data will be forever lost or corrupted for these 30 year old tapes. The HP 85's tape drive itself will have a rubber wheel that usually by now turns into a paste-like substance. If anyone else here comes across this thread you're welcome to contact me as well.
