  Well, the two most common physical methods are using GPIB cables (typically with the USB adapter if your PC does not have a GPIB card) or you can use a LAN cable.  Also available, but much less popular, is a USB cable.  All have some advantages and disadvantages.

That covers the basic physical connection.  Then you need to decide on a programming method, such as SICL and VISA (via GPIB or LAN) or COM (via LAN).

Much of this is covered in the Help Manual.  See http://na.tm.agilent.com/pna for links to the help manual, programming overview, and some simple programming examples.  If you tell us a bit more about what you want/need, we may be able to help more.  What programming language do you want to use..VB, VEE, Labview, C#, or ???

  Thank you very much for reply. 

I connected the E5071c to the PC through LAN (crossing-cable), and trying to use Labview to do the programming.
So far, I managed to measure the s11 and s21, but the measured results are shown on the network analyzer. How can I read the data from the network analyzer, and store them on PC (in Labview)?
