MPLAB X IDE不会构建项目

*Note I have MPLABX IDE v3.45

I recently restarted my computer, and upon rebooting I could not build any of my projects. Selecting any of the build or Debug buttons at the top results in no action (neither is there any error generated). I am not sure why this is the result.

**Some additional comments:
Upon restarting I also had problems opening old projects. The error "Content is not allowed in prolog" would be produced upon reading the project's "configurations.xml" file. Apparently this has been a problem in the past. The original file is attached.

***Possibly important comment: I also deleted the persistence files (located in under ~userAppDataRoamingmplab_idedevv3.45) to reset the IDE's window configuration, which had also changed after restarting.
