  I was able to recall your state file on my N5242A, using FW A.09.80.10, without any issues. (I'm not sure what PNA model you are using.)

I gather from your posting that you have an M20 test set attached to your PNA, and the source out/coupler thru connections on the PNA are routed through the test set. Is this correct?

Also, is your NF license option 028 or 029? The Help->About Network Analyzer dialog will show which license you have.

Have you tried rolling back to A.09.50.13? If the warning disappears when you revert to the earlier FW revision, then at least we know the issue is with firmware and not hardware.

It is an N5242A with options 400,P04,010,080,083,086,087,029,419,423,551,UNL,016,014,081,S02. Yes, the connections are routed through the test set. I will try rolling back the firmware this evening.

  FW A.09.50.13 did not fix it. The code for Unleveled, LO Drive is 790 in the error log and it is not listed in the help file. 

While I was digging around I noticed that there were mxcal files in the Network Analyzer directory and on the D: drive (with dates from the last time it was sent to cal), so it appears that this drive may have been put into a PNA at the Calibration Labratory. Should I delete these from both locations? I was thinking about completely erasing the files in both locations to see if this will correct the problem. What files should I not delete, on the D: drive and in the Network Analyzer Directory, if any? 

This may also be related to another post were we downgraded the firmware on a system after it was returned from calibration and the Calibration Lab said it caused a Hardware Failure do to improper firmware downgrade. I have not heard any resolution on that one yet, but was not personally involved with troubleshooting the failure.

  Do not delete the mxcal files...these have nothing to do with LO power...and besides, even if you erase them, they will come back upon the next reboot.

The proper thing to do is to perform an adjustment to see if that will fix the problem (in case something drifted.)  To perform the adjustment, you would need a 26.5GHz power sensor and an Agilent power meter.  You would have to open the box to connect the sensor to the proper point.  The Noise LO involves two assemblies.  The LO synth feeds the LO Drive.  Either one could cause this issue if either assembly has drifted since originally adjusted.   The LO Synth should be adjusted first, then the LO Drive.  The adjustments only take a few minutes.  To access these adjustments, click on Utilities, System, Service, Adjustments; then click on EE Default Adjustments. 

If you do not feel comfortable doing this, I can walk you through it or you can simply send it in for service.  This way, if something has failed, they can fix it.

  I sent a couple PMs, but before removing the PNA-X from the rack, I decided to disconnect the Multiport and run the Operators Check. The Unleveled, LO Drive error shows up during Port 2 measurement, but it does not flag it as an error, but there is now a Port 3 Receiver failure. I ran the Source and Receiver Adjustments with no improvement, so it looks like this Unit will have to be sent in for repair after all.
