LAN8720a PHY偶尔会反应迟钝，LED每三秒闪烁一次

I have the LAN8720a PHY connected to an NXP i.MX6UL CPU running Linux v4.1.
Despite complying with the timings with regards to power up and reset of the PHY, there are rare occasions in which the PHY is not detected (registers read all 0xFFFF) and both LEDs blink once every three seconds, in what looks like an error code.
There is nothing in the datasheet of the PHY (or the errata) regarding this blinking every 3 seconds.
I tried issuing another reset when the issue happens but it does not seem to help. I need to power-cycle the unit to go back to normal behaviour.
The issue happens around once in a hundred reboot cycles, but I was able to reproduce it in different units.
I was wondering if anybody experienced anything similar or know about the blinking LEDs error code.
