USB3主机与RealICE（和ICD3）不兼容？

    Still settling into a new computer, and I think I've found out that the USB3 host in my docking station is incompatible with the RealICE (and the ICD3).  i.e., when I connect those devices to the dock, their lights are active as if they were working, but the MPLABX IDE and IPE cannot find them.  Plug them directly into the laptop (or even thru a u***3 hub to the laptop) and they work just fine, but present a mechanical problem when I want to make a quick getaway from my cubical...

...as the offending host controller.  Funny enough the microsoft tool can't even see devices that are connected to this host.  (some new USB3 lack of backwards comparability?)  Anyone else ever see anything like this?
