The issue here is this YIG filter takes some time until it is tuned at LO frequency while we perform swept LO and fixed IF style noise figure measurement. When it is tuned, this YIG filter module will provide a voltage level that indicate it has been tuned. I was wondering if there is any solution to use this indicator to syncronize the sweep of PXA at each measurement points. - like point triggering in PNA-X in s parameter measurement sweep. Thank you. The application is specialized, and an Agilent Application Engineer would need to get involved to take a deep dive, and obtain an understanding of the external YIG filter control situation. And then our in-house built measurement software will be able to deal with the syncronised frequency sweep with esternal YIG filter. -i.e. 1. set PXA measurement mode to be single instead of swept at one frequency. 2. tune external YIG filter and wait until it is tuned. 3. Measure noise figure at this frequency with PXA. 4. move to the next frequency => set PXA single frequency measurement to this new frequency. .....continue until the last frequency point measured. Then our measurement software can gather all the noise figure at each frequency and generate one swept frequency result file. I assume as long as the loss & ENR table and PXA calibration cover the sweep range, only one of these table and calibration will be enough. Thanks. Steve |
