Also, how the phase pattern of antenna is computed through this measurement (preferably with mathematical equations or notions) My second question is, if during Tx mode measurement instead of the range RF signal being used to derive the reference signal directly ( I mean RF signal being fed to RF input of mixer) if I have some other external source ( without 10 MHz control) can I still perform the phase locking (using some other horn antenna to capture the signal and using PLL) and compute phase pattern of antenna. From what I can tell from your setup is that you have a reciprocal configuration that has 85309s at either ends. If so you must use a common LO source in both the test and reference channel mixers to be able to get a phase ratio from the AUT. The 10MHz references are only a frequency lock and not a phase coherent lock. Answer to second question is NO due to my answer above. Again, a drawing would be very useful to completely understand you hardware configuration. |
