So the behavior that you are observing is most likely due to programming response on 66332A, with N6762A it has better programming response. The N6762A can only source 3A maximum and sinking operations is not programmable. Does your application require more than 3A at 6V or 1A at 20V? if not we have another PS series N6782A which has even better programming response than N6762A with a unique measurement capability. What we offer with N6782A is precision dynamic measurement which takes advantage of 3 measurement ranges simultaneously. This will give a very detailed view of dynamic current of your PA. Going through the SCPI manual of 66332A and N6762A, it looks like some commands are the same to configure and measure. However, I am not able to get array of current from N6762A but I get it through 66332A. The steps I follow for 66332A pulse current measurement are as follows - 1) Set Meter to ACDC - SENS:CURR:DET ACDC (Cannot find command for N6762A) 2) Set to trigger on pulse - TRIG:ACQ:SOUR INT (Cannot find command for N6762A) 3) Acquire current reading - SENS:FUNC ""CURR"" (Works with 6762A as well, not sure if need to send some other command) 4) Set sample rate - SENS:SWE:TINT n (Command is same for 6762A) 5) Set number of measurement samples in sweep - SENS:SWE:POIN n (Command is same for 6762A) 6) Get data array. - MEAS:ARRAY:CURR?
