  Hi Andreas,

For the current architecture of TestExec SL, we only allow the testplan itself to be linked to external symbol table. The user sequence that is internal to the testplan is allowed to link to external symbol table.

This is purposely designed this way after taking into consideration:-
1) All links to symbol tables are loaded into the testplan. Even if the sequence library is deleted, the external symbol tables that was linked from the deleted sequence library will still reside in the testplan.
2) We allows sequence library to call other sequence library. When this happens, if all sequence libraries were to call different external symbol tables. These external symbol table will reside in the main sequence library. And this might end up to be a hassle when deploying into a complete testplan.

I do hope this clarifies why we do not allow external symbol tables to be link in sequence libraries.
