APEC 2015 is here and we’re excited about all the new products and solutions we’re going to show. The show will start off with two of our key technologists which have been invited to present at the Professional Education Seminar on Monday. Christophe Basso, application engineering director at ON Semiconductor, will present a seminar on ‘Practical Implementation of Loop Control in Power Converters’ and Roger Stout, research scientist at ON Semiconductor, will present a seminar on ‘Power Electronics System Thermal Design’. We’re proud to have them invited to present and look forward to sharing their knowledge on power supply design.
When exhibit opens up on Monday afternoon we invite everyone to come and visit us at booth 407. We will have live demos along with several other power supply design examples to showcase. Some of the key live demos:
The industry’s first current mode LLC controller: The NCP1399 will be highlighted in a 150W adapter design. We will also have a 240W adapter design as reference. The power supply reference design will incorporate the NCP1399 along with ON Semiconductor’s NCP4810 X2 capacitor discharger, NCP1602 power factor controller, and NCP4305 synchronous rectification controller. We will have technical application engineers on hand to discuss the benefits of current mode control versus voltage mode control in an LLC topology and how it can improve your power supply.
240W GaN adapter reference design: The board utilizes GaN HEMTs in both the PFC stage and in the primary side of the LLC stage and features ON Semiconductor’s new NTP8G202N GaN transistor switching devices. You will be able to see the switching waveforms and see the thermal difference GaN makes in the power supply system design.
In addition to the live demos we will also be showcasing several of our new products in various reference designs:
10 W USB Charger: The NCP1365 is a Quasi-Resonant current mode controller with Valley Switching. The small adapter design meets CoC V5 Tier-2 standards and fits in the small U90 form factor.
45W Ultra-high Density Adapter: The NCP1339 is a Quasi-Resonant current mode controller with Valley Switching with HV startup and Active X2 discharge. The small adapter design meets CoC V5 Tier-2 but demonstrates ultra-high density form factor.
2W Buck & 5W Flyback: The NCP1060/63 are the latest generation of integrated switchers. With a built-in 700 V MOSFET and direct feedback for both isolated and non-isolated designs it allows simple and small form factor power supply designs.
60W LED Driver: The NCL30088 is a high Power Factor (PF) and low THD driver. It offers a precise 2% current regulation with a broad Vcc range for ease of design in wide VF applications. 89% Efficiency at 50 W, Power factor of 0.99, typical THD of 6% @ 120 Vac .
USB Type-C Adapter: Implementation of the latest USB-Pd Type-C power supply. Demonstrated capability to meet the USB-Pd latest standards.
We look forward to seeing everyone this week and invite you to come see us at booth 407 and meet with our experts from all over the world.
