When I tried to invoke MCC on a new blank dsPIC33FJ32MC304 project, it attempted to load, then produced an error that this part is not supported. This was with MPLAB X IDE v4.15 and MCC 3.55.1. I also installed pic24-dspic33-pic32mm-1.54.jar (assuming I did that correctly). Not sure if I should try to diagnose this further -- "all I wanted was a bootloader" that hopefully doesn't brick the device if the upload is interrupted or corrupt. |

I guess older ones won't be supported as also many of the 10/15/20 years old PICs ;=) dsPIC33FJ is a "relatively" old family (started about 10 years ago) and 3 years later dsPIC33EP was introduced. I guess MCC supports only dsPIC33EP as there are probably equivalents dsPIC33EP for most dsPIC33FJ devices.and they are cheaper, more powerful and consume much less current. EZBL is the best option but you'll just need to adapt it (there are various "Flash" write architectures / algorithms) to your device. Regards |
