Although I have read much of the documentation it is not exactly clear if you need additional hardware to configure/program these devices. I understand that a programmer is needed for an ATMEL controller but does the starter kit have this built into the main board, or what ever is needed to get up and running? Previous Blue tooth module I have used acts just as a modem so it is set up with AT commands and saved to NVM. I would appreciate it if somebody could confirm if any 'programmer' is needed? The SAM L21 demo board has an onboard Embedded Debugger which I presume works with the onboard ATSAML21J18B. But from what you have wrote, there is no need for something to program/debug the atbtlc1000-zr110ca. This being done by the UART, but not by AT commands, just a different protocol? Why would it have the Serial Wire Debug (SWD) interface provided on the actual zr110ca module. Also the documentation appears to be written as though it can be used as a stand alone controller, which is my preference... I may have totally misunderstood the documentation here though !! I had the other development kit delivered Thurs. First time I have used the Atmel products. Atmel studio very well integrated to the development kits. For anybody who is using the 1000_ZR development kit, there isn't a photo of the SAM L21/1000-ZR combination showing the jumper positions. It appears the photo (indicated in the text) of the 1000-ZR has the wrong jumper positions. J101, J102, J103, J104 should be open. J105, J106, J107, J108 should be in the UART position (underside silkscreen). And these are not as it came from the factory. The 'Example Profiles Guide' describes changes that are needed to the Symbols for the ZR module. I found that all the examples needed this change to work. Regards, T Yorky |
