I noticed that the example designs for the transceivers load gt_rom files that are stored in BRAM, so I didn't know if I could use similar sections of the example design to write to the BRAMs.

Figuring out how to connect to the PC was a step I was going to address later. Possibly using PCIe, but not sure.
