   Can you please elaborate on this? I have the same problem running webpack (I double click on xsetup.exe and nothing happens) on Win 7 Pro X64 and Vist Home Premium x32.However, I have no problem runnig the ISE Design Suite setup on either. More specific instructions on how to run the webpack exe file would be great. Thank you very much.

If you can't run the setup.exe (10.1) or xsetup.exe (11.1) that is located in the root of the unarchived installation files then you should go to the binnt directory and run the xsetup.exe or setup.exe that resides there.  The one in the root just finds out what OS the computer is and runs the appropriate (x)setup from the bin folder, i.e. in the nt, nt64, lin or lin64 folders.  So running the setup directly from one of these folders, depending on the OS you are running on, skips the first step and you choose the OS instead of the installer trying to do it.  This often needs to be done when trying to install the tools on an unsupported OS.

When I run xsetup in the <>/bin/nt folder I get the following error window pop up.
Actually two identical windows one right after the other.

 Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application. 
 ---------------------------------------------
 
I click OK then the same window pops up again and I click OK and nothing else happens.
 
Again, I am running Windows XP SP2 as administrator.
Are there any application or environment dependencies this needs to install? Like a certain version of Java or something?
I have not tried the same thing with version 10.1 yet.
