The internal resistance is a setting that you use to mimic certain type of batteries. Some types of battieres just by design tend to have a higher internal resistance than others. I misunderstood your earlier question. I thought that perhaps you were looking for a menu option that would say "lithium-ion", "nickel-cadmium" , or "nickel metal-hydride". Then it would load a setting that mimics the various internal resistance and somehow the effects of the differnces in chemical compisition as well into the output setting. I program the voltage, current and resistance, I connect a load (a resistance at this case) and I let it doing measurements for one complete day (24 hours). but the output voltage of the source dosen`t move at all, I mean, the output voltage was the same at the beginning and at the end. If you leave it on over a long period of time, the voltage will not drop as you would expect from a real battery. That's not the type of emulation that this power supply was designed to do. What this power supply was designed to do is give you charactertistic the current drain during differetn operation on your DUT. If you DUT was a mobile phone, texting, watching videos, talking, running apps, idle, sleep, etc... those would all require different levels of current drain and this power supply allows you see these current drain charactertisics as they happen. So if running a certain process, draws too much current or too high of a current burst, the design can go back and design the process different hence optimizing the battery life. Steven |
