Modern signal analyzers (PSA, PXA, MXA, EXA, CXA, MXE) have extremely linear digital IFs. The linearity has improved from about a dB to less than a hundredth of a dB. The improvement is similar to what you would see transitioning from analog cassette tapes to compact discs.
