  If you are running S-Parameter or other simulation, you have to define the sweep range from say 100MHz to 300MHz step 100KHz.  The Axis gets scaled automatically by itself.  You don't have to do anything.  The plot should only plot data based on the simulation time or sweep frequency.  If you are getting GHz is because your are not defining the sweep or frequency sweeps.  

How are you using this program?  S-Parameters?  Send a screen shot of what you are doing.

  I have some observations regarding my post.

1.  It appears that many others are interested in this topic so I assume that they are possibly having the same problem I am with changing the scale units.

2.  It also appears that the technical support people at Agilent do not answer questions on the forums.  If they did, I am sure they would know the answer to my question and would have answered it long before this thread acquired 170 views.

  Joe,

I am sorry for my misunderstanding of this forum.  I clearly did not read the information page carefully and made the assumption that Agilent technical support would be present on this forum as they are on many of the technical forums I participate in.

Our support license for our ADS software has expired and that is the reason I have not contacted Agilent/ADS tech support directly with this question.  It was my mistake to think that I could get Agilent Tech support for our ADS 2009 software in this forum without paying for the support with our license.

I apologize for the misunderstanding.

  Hi JSMill,

Currently the plot axis untis are set automatically based on the min and max values of the data. If the min and max are in the GHz range, the units will be set automatically to GHz. If the min and max of the values are in MHz range, the units on the axis will be MHz. Unfortunately there is not a way to override this automatic setting at this time. An enhancement request is already in our system to allow the units of a plot to be set directly.

Thank you for taking the time to address my question. You mention that the min and max for the data set the plot axis.  Is that true for an s-parameter simulation input?  If you notice above I had posted some screenshots of my simulation.  My s-parameter block is defined in MHz with the step in kHz.  Yet, my output displays are all in GHz (see other screenshot). Is there another way to set min and max in MHz to have the display outputs in MHz?  Am I not setting min and max in the correct location?

Since your swept range is in the GHz range, it does not matter what units you used in the S-parameter controller to define the start and stop frequency. The data display program will set the units of plot based on the start and stop values, which in your case are in the GHz range. There is not a way currently to set the units on the axis manually. That is the reason for the enhancement request in our system.

There sure was a flurry of activity on this thread recently (over 100 views in a couple of days).  It appears there are many ADS users who are interested in having the ability to change the scale manually.
