Look at the measurment speed data in the 34970A Data Sheet to find how fast you can go. To get the maximum speed, you must use the 4 1/2 digit mode, with fixed range and autozero off. 10 ms is 100 rdgs/sec. The maximum scanning speed with these settings for the 34901A armature relay multiplexer is 60 rdgs/sec. So if you had 5 channels, that would be 12 rdgs/sec/channel or 83.3 ms measurement repetition time on each channel. With the 34902A reed relay multiplexer, you can do 210 channels/sec, so you could scan two channels within the your time limit. With a singel channel and the fastest settings, you can do 500 rdgs/sec. But note that the accuracy and the measurement noise rejection decrease for the faster settings.
