I no longer have a FieldFox (I used to own an N9923A), but I am are trying to create a calibration kit file for a custom SMA calibration kit, that someone can load into a FieldFox. I seem to be hitting a bug in the Data Link software, version 4.64. I used the standalone CalKitEditor Rev: 1.0.5018.0 (Sept 2013) http://na.tm.agilent.com/pna/apps/#calkiteditor to create the attached .xkt file - note the extension is .xkt and not .xml, since CalKitEditor does not allow one to save a .xml file, but it does allow one to save a .xkt file which I believe should upload to the FieldFox via Data Link software. If I attempt to open that .xkt file in the Data Link software, version 4.64, it reports "CalKitEditor.exe has stopped working". But the same file opens in the standalone CalKitEditor Rev: 1.0.5018.0. The computer I am using is a Sony laptop, with 32-bit Vista Business Edition which has service pack 1 installed.

There exists a defect in the 4.64 version of Datalink's calkit editor. Defined standards in a calkit must have monotonically increasing standard numbers. FieldFox's firmware has the same defect, so has the same requirement when reading calkit files. The stand-alone calkit editor used to enforce this standard numbering, but this was removed to support some older required behaviors with PNA. So the new editor (1.0.5018.0) does not enforce this and it is possible to create kits that are (currently) not compatible with the DataLink calkit editor and also FieldFox firmware. To make your kit compatible with the current DataLink calkit editor and FieldFox firmware, you can manually adjust your standard numbers (with a text editor) to be monotonically ascending integers, starting at 1. I have attached your kit, edited to conform to this requirement. Standard numbers 7 and 8 became standard numbers 5 and 6, respectively. If you do your own editing, make sure you adjust the kit class assignments for any standards whose standard numbers you change. Future FieldFox releases (including DataLink) will properly consume calkits with arbitrary standard numbers, like the 1.0.5018.0 calkit editor can. Sorry for the inconvenience. Wil 附件
