In addition to the SMT software mentioned in my previous post, the 'Agilent RF Sensor Software CD' contains C libraries written by Agilent to configure and control the RF Sensor units. These libraries, referred to as Sensor Access Libraries (SAL), can be called from C/C++/C# applications so that users can create their own applications to collect and process data from the RF Sensors. In addition to the libraries, Agilent has included Demo applications (some with GUIs and some to be called from the command line) with source code to help programmers get started. It seems that getting the user to write their own programs that call the SAL functions is how these RF sensors were intended to be operated. There are, however, some software products available for purchase from Agilent that can interface to the RF sensors such as the E3238S Signal Survey Software. I hope this post, and my previous one, help clarify how these sensors are intended to be used and what the possibilities are with them. rw |
