For this purpose I made a board with a MRF24j40, a PIC16F67K22 and a MRF24G0MA and a second board with just an MRF24J40 and PIC67K22 plus some I/O. I implemented a minimal network and experimented, but since I was not transmitting high volumes of data I found no interference between WIFI ad MIWI. My interest were concentrated on software issues for relaying information, handling delayed data, uniform time keeping etc. I was not concerned with the possible coexistance of high wifi traffic because my arrangement was not meant to have the miwi net be co-located with the wifi area except for the miwi to wifi bridge stations. From what I understand by reading 802.15.4 the 2.4 Ghz is not the only frequency band that can be used with O-QPSK. A different device other than Microchip's MRF24J40 could possibly operate on one of the other available bands, provided such device is commercially available. This might solve your issue. I have the feeling that Microchip itself is not very pleased with the MRF24J40. |
