I'm designing a Daughter Board [DB] and need data logging as one of the features in it. The DB will have its own MCU, which will communicate with a PIC18 MCU(on the main device) over the SPI protocol. I need the data logging to work in such a way that it can it can log data, sent from the peripherals connected to it (including the data sent from the PIC18 MCU), into a USB flash drive. To my understanding, the MCU on the DB will need to have the feature HNP(Host Negotiation Protocol) to act like a host.

I tried to search for a MCU which is 8-bit, has a data logging facility, has SPI and USB protocols (USB for logging data in a flash drive), but none of them work on 5v. I'd like the PIC18 and MCU on the DB to have 5v of operating voltage. An 8-bit MCU would be better to communicate with the PIC18 which is also 8-bit.

So my question is, "Is there anyway that a 8-bit MCU that has SPI and USB protocols, but doesn't have the host feature, still log data"? Maybe with some additional circuitry or IC?
