  Freescale公司的TWR-RF-SNAP无线网状网络解决方案是采用Synapse公司基于Freescale的MC13224V收发器平台的SM700 RF引擎。这种无线网络模块采用带大容量片上存储器的ARM7 32位处理器,并集成了12位ADC,工作频率2400 - 2483.5MHz,输出功率高达100mW,16个RF通路,户外LOS距离达1.5英里,而TWR-RF-SNAP无线网状网络模块可单独使用,也可和Tower System一起使用。本文介绍了Synapse公司的SM700 RF引擎主要特性和指标,方框图以及RF无线网状网络模块TWR-RF-SNAP主要特性,方框图和电路图。
  Synapse raises the bar on integrated performance with its SM700 RF Engine® based on the Freescale™ MC13224V transceiver platform. This wireless network module uses an ARM7 32-bit processor with large on-chip memory and integrated 12-bit ADCs.
  And like all RF Engines from Synapse, the Model SM700 comes with SNAP® already loaded and ready to perform right out of the box. SNAP is Synapse’s award-winning, mesh network operating system that provides wireless connectivity for Internet-to-machine and machine-to-machine communications.
  With 96K RAM of memory, large applications can bring intelligence to the very edge of the network for local operations. These applications can be uploaded over-the-air… even mesh hopping across the network to reach its destination. And because of the large memory in the SM700, the core SNAP operating system can also be upgraded over-the-air and leaves your network in place and intact.
  Very little board space is needed for this RF Engine (25mm x 36mm)。 Even the antenna is integrated to further reduce system size and cost. What comes in a small package however is big on capabilities. The SM700 can achieve a range of over 1.5 miles and deliver an output of up to +20dBm. For applications requiring battery power, the Model SM700 can perform at power consumption levels as low as 12 μA.

  RF无线网状网络模块TWR-RF-SNAP
  The Wireless Mesh Networking Tower Board (TWR-RF-SNAP) is a peripheral Tower System Module. The TWR-RF-SNAP provides wireless mesh networking via the FCC Certified Synapse Wireless SM700 RF Engine. The SM700 is based on the Freescale MC13224 chip which combines a 32-bit ARM7 MCU with an IEEE 802.15.4 radio transceiver.
  The TWR-RF-SNAP module can function standalone or within the Tower System. As part of the Tower System, the TWR-RF-SNAP can interface with Tower System controller modules via SPI and can access available Tower System peripheral modules using UART or I2C. The TWR-RF-SNAP also includes a General Purpose Tower Plug-in (TWRPI) socket allowing direct access to a selection of sensor plug-ins via I2C.
  A SN132 USB Dongle is also included with the TWR-RF-SNAP. The USB Dongle features the RF100 RF Engine based on a Freescale MC9S08 MCU and the Freescale MC13191 radio. The USB dongle provides a communication portal to a host computer via USB.
  The TWR-RF-SNAP can be accessed in Synapse’s Portal IDE using either the on-board USB or wirelessly using the included RF100 USB Dongle.
