Hey All,
Let me start by saying I am a complete novice at this (im a mechanical engineer :/ ). Ive read the manual for the power supply and I dont understand why this is happening. Basically I am trying to control a simple DC motor with the power supply. 12 Volts and 330 MA, perfectly within the limits of the machine. OVP set at 22.
So I have programmed the machine both with GPIB and on the front panel manually. I set everything how I want it, the front panel reads 12 volts and 0.33 amps. Then I flip the switch to connect the motor. The motor goes for about half a second and voltage just drops on the power supply. The current stays the same but the voltage drops to 0.3 V. Any twis
ting of the knobs or VSET gpib commands do nothing.
Obviously I do not know enough about how power supplies work but it seems an easy problem and it does not make any sense why the voltage would drop. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
