Here's a simplified diagram showing the JTAG connections in one sectionand the serial programming connections in another. A moredetailed diagram of the PROM connections can be found in thePlatformFlash datasheet. You may also want to insert a seriesterminating resistor (I usually start with 22 ohms) on the TDO outputof the PROM placed near the PROM. This may allow fasterprogramming by cable. Also there is some concern that the TCKpins of the Spartan 3 series are susceptible to noise especially fromringing on the cable, so it may be prudent to add a buffer like a74LVC1G17 with schmitt trigger input between the programming header andthe devices on the chain.
