When it failed it sent the full inout voltage out the 'out' pin. It was feeding a 16F1823 which has an absolute max voltage of 6.5 volts. Changed up the regulator and programmed the 16F1823. My question is, if someone fed the + pin of this chip an unregulated (because I think that's what was coming out of the regulator into the PIC) 6.5 volts and being that the PIC is a semiconductor, would this damage the PIC? The PIC seems to be working fine but I'm worried that it might fail after numerous power ups and should I change it.-Keith |
